LOCKED IN

SUNDAY: Spent lots of time creating unique sounds on the piano using objects (ball, drumsticks, paper clips, brush, etc.) with and without processing. Very very cool hearing those unrecognizable sounds through 8 channels !! We strapped the DMX light to the ceiling with some duct tape (should be fine right hehe) working on code to make the light work in sync with the dancer’s movement – tricky because the tilt and pan of the light doesn’t directly translate into coordinates

TUESDAY: Snow shared what she has composed so far and Dana shared a Unity piano model that can respond to midi messages – thinking of how we can maybe possibly make the visual respond to live audio from the piano? We ran through the first three sections of the piece with Natasha (!!) Justin is live recording and playing back the piano sounds processed – which will eventually be partially controlled by the dancer. Still working on lights – things not working we are confused (vectors? interpolation? x y z pan tilt positive orthogonal)
